BEFORE THE JOURNEY

This is really very personal to me but now I want to share. For the last 2 years after my divorce, I was in mental trauma. I am an emotional and sensitive person so it’s hard for me to move on quickly. I had lost interest in work, was frustrated, lacked enthusiasm, and wished to be left alone. Left the corporate life and lived in my own zone. I had lost myself and always doubted my ability and what’s going wrong and why this happened. I have taken a break from work life and I only work what is necessary for my livelihood in my spare time. I either learn a few things or do whatever my heart wants or just sleep for a day. I am just spending time with myself, not talking with anyone or going out with anyone it’s just me and me. In the whole journey, I have found some amazing qualities of mine and I am more powerful than I was thinking. So I needed a break in life so that it is only me and my dreams.

LETS START RIDING

The full journey was planned yet spontaneous. Before a year I had made a plan that I will be going on a South India biking trip in January 2021 – January because the weather conditions are favorable in months of January and February and the plan was around 50 days. And that plan also included a new bike and gadgets to make a film of the journey, but due to the covid situation, this is now a plan for a trip in 2022.

PUNE TO LONAWALA – FIRST DESTINATION

My cousin’s wedding was taking place in Lonavala on December 12. I didn’t wish to be there, but finally with 2 days remaining I booked a ticket and just like that the journey starts on December 10, 2020 From Rajkot to Pune. I arrived in Pune and it is here where my bike was before lockdown and I decided to ride my bike to Lonavala which is about 80kms, I was a little tense before riding but after returning from Lonavala I was full of confidence. In two days I visited Golden valley viewpoint, done trekking at Duke’s nose and the market of Lonawala. To reach the high point of the duke’s nose it takes around 40 min to reach and 5 km of up and down trekking.

PUNE TO MAHABALESHWAR

After two days I thought of going to Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. Then I started again one more bike trip to Mahabaleshwar which is about 115km from Pune. Stayed 4 days at Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani visited strawberry farms and many famous places there.

WHY BIKE SOLO TRAVELING

Solo bike traveling was never on my bucket list nor would I dare to go solo even before a year. But time gives me an opportunity to do more in life and I have taken that opportunity and I have done it in a good way. Solo bike traveling is not easy as you think, from top to bottom everything you have to handle by yourself. And the most important is maintaining your health and bike. After that hotel booking, route planning, luggage caring, finding good healthy food and always being ready for some good and bad surprises. And most important is you must be comfortable with yourself. I never get bored with myself, always talk with myself and enjoy each and every moment of the trip. Solo bike travel teaches how you are important and what’s your strength and weakness. You have to motivate yourself every time on a trip whenever you feel low and what to do more on the trip. Spending time with yourself is necessary in life. If you can’t love yourself you can’t love some other person. Start loving others but start from yourself.

PUNE TO MUMBAI

And after I returned to Pune now I was planning to explore Mumbai which was on my bucket list for the last many years. This time also on a bike to Mumbai and explored many famous and also lesser-known places of Mumbai, stayed there for 11 days.

PUNE

This is the place I use as a junction point, Pune is my second home for me. So after every trip, I am back to Pune and stay for 2 or 3 days to complete my work and again back to the next trip.

WHY I LOVE TRAVELING

I have loved traveling a lot for the past many years – without this, I can’t live. Most of my savings are spent on traveling. Traveling covers all of my other interests, like food, exploring new places, meeting, having conversations with different personalities, and most importantly photography. Travelling allows learning lots of new lessons and giving more experience about life. I believe investment in traveling is always a profitable step.

WHY SOUTH INDIA

South India because I have already explored the North, Middle and West of India. I have never gone to the South so I wanted to explore it and learn about its culture.

GOA

After getting back I was wondering now what’s next? I thought maybe I should go to Goa for a month and chill. But I started doubting my bike’s capacity and my caliber, but I took a risk and started the ride towards Goa. To reach Goa I took a stay at Kolhapur and then reached North Goa First. In Goa, I explored beaches, Panjim city, Divar island and a few offbeat places in Goa. Visited different pubs every night, dancing and full partying at night. You get the best seafood in Goa.

FOOD AND HOTELS

Booking a good hotel and finding healthy food is a daily task of a trip. For hotel booking, I used Booking.com and makemytrip.com or at some places, I did it on the spot. In some places I choose Zostel. Zostel has good locations and where I met different travelers from different places. I am a food lover also and for so many days eating outside food is not good so for maintaining my health I chose only healthy food. Every day I take fruits and drink a lot of water. I am a die-hard non veg food lover. At home, I consume non-veg delicacies every day and sometimes with rice. So, while traveling one time a day I take non-veg food and rest South Indian or any veg items and seafood also. And tea 5 to 7 times daily. I never ate any junk food during my whole journey. I also don’t like it.

After North Goa, I moved to South Goa. If you want to enjoy beaches only south Goa is heaven. You feel like it’s your own personal beach. The very little crowd and so much peace at the beach. They are clean and the water is aqua green. From start to last, I visited many beaches of Goa and it is wonderful staying there.

WHAT TO DO?

After living in North and South Goa for 13 days, I felt 1 month is too long a time to stay in Goa. So what to do? Back to Pune or travel further down south? Undecided where to go, I pondered for 2 days and then I took a risk and rode towards Mangalore, Karnataka via Gokarna, Murdeshwar and Udupi. I said to myself that if nothing goes right, I will go back to Pune via train or via road. I felt nervous because I had never ridden my bike much. Maybe 100 km in a day and now I am riding 300 to 400 km in a day. I am just riding a bike from one destination to another destination, why I don’t know but I really really enjoyed each and every moment of this trip. My family even resisted saying that I should come back but I didn’t budge. One after another, I chose the destination where I wanted to go and everything started to fall in place.

Started Riding On Early Morning

Om Beach, Gokarna

Murdeshwar

Mangalore

MYSORE

After Mangalore I rode towards Coorg and Mysore. Stayed in Mysore for two days and left for Ooty. It was in Ooty only that I felt the nip in the air. After Coonoor I reached Coimbatore. In Coimbatore, I visited the local market, temple and met many local people.

ABOUT BIKE

I have a Honda Stunner, 125cc engine bike which is 11 years old. I never rode this bike further than Gondal (which is 50km from Rajkot) and now I have completed an 8165 km journey. This is just an amazing bike that never gave up on me even a single time on the whole journey. I just changed the engine oil and did maintenance on time. I never dreamt that I will travel so much with this bike. I rode 300 to 400 km daily at 80 to 90 km/hour of speed. I am just amazed by its performance. For bike traveling there is no need for a high-end bike. If your engine’s bike is in good shape and is well-maintained. That’s enough, everything depends on how you ride and how you care for your bike.

OOTY & COONOOR

COIMBATORE

KOCHI

After Coimbatore I decided to go to Kochi via Palakkad. Kochi is 200km from Coimbatore. staying 2 days in Kochi exploring the fort area of Kochi and Chinese fishing net and the local area.

MOUNTAIN AND BEACHES

These both things I love a lot, spending time in nature make me so free and give me lots of new creative thoughts and moving further in life. In the whole trip I try to witness sunrises and sunsets. Just doing nothing, just see and feel it.

MUNNAR

After the beachside I decided to go to the mountains again; Munnar is the famous spot near Kochi. Munnar is just such a beautiful place. It is 125km from Kochi. I stayed in Munnar for 2 days and visited tea farms, local villages and many unseen places near the Munnar area.

THEKKADY

From Munnar now I reached Thekkady via visit Idukki Dam(biggest Arch Dam of India), just after reached Thekkady first I take an ayurvedic massage there and on the next day, I visited Ramakkalmedu and met Sujji anna.

ON JOUNERY PEOPLE MEET

On the whole trip I met a few amazing people and a few rude people too but only remembered good and ignored the unpleasant ones – I learned from each one. Few people are so kind and their love is never forgotten. Make a few new friends and I think the friendship will last for a lifetime. Thank you everyone for the love, care and guide. Love you everyone.

ALLEPPEY

Then again back to the beachside, for a few days. 2 days at the mountain and 2 days at the seaside. Sunrise at mountain and sunset at the beachside. These wonderful moments I will always cherish. Now checked in to the Alleppy backwater area via Vagamon hill. Staying in Alleppey for 2 days and got the experience of a backwater boat ride.

TRIP DAILY ROUTINE

My day usually starts early morning between 5:30 to 6 am. It’s not fixed, it depends on where I am and where I am going. If the ride is above 300 km, I would leave the place by morning 7 or 8. And my target is to reach the destination before 5 PM. I don’t ride at night because it’s really hard to ride at night and it’s unsafe also. I take a break after each 60 to 70 Km for 10 to 15 minutes. Then after checking in to the hotel take a rest for half an hour and freshen-up and get ready to explore the place and back to the hotel by 8 and take a good sleep.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

Then after moving to Trivandrum capital city of Kerala but on the road I visited Kollam and Varkala Beach. At Trivandrum, I visited Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple and the market area.

KANYAKUMARI

The next day I reached Kanyakumari. The land end of India. After reaching Kanyakumari I got so emotional and felt proud of myself. I felt I have achieved something in myself. I was fully confident at that time and I was so happy. After that, I know whatever I decide I can do in any way. So after reaching Kanyakumari I decided I will go back home on my bike itself.

The next day I visited Dhanushkodi which is 25 km from Rameshwaram. Dhanushkodi is also known as Ram Setu point. I documented fisherman’s life in their area.

DIGITAL NOMAD

I am a digital nomad, I do work and travel both. In the morning or late evening, I complete my work. Travel and working are good things after covid and I like this concept and will do it this kind of thing in future also. I am blessed I have this kind of work so I can do it anyway just need good internet.

MADURAI

After Rameshwaram I visited Madurai, In Madurai I visited Meenakshi Amman Temple and the local market of Madurai. You get the best non-veg food in Madurai.

SALEM & YERCUAD

After Madurai I took a stop at Salem. After reaching Salem I got to know that Yercuad hill station is near from here, So I took a local bus ride to reach Yercuad. Yercaud is 26 km from Salem.

MY RECOMMENDATION

After the travel, I must say that please give time to yourself and if possible travel solo. If not possible for many days just go for 2 days only. Take your vehicle and just out and explore the beautiful world, especially our India. If anyone needs any guidance related to solo traveling please ask me or write an email – which you can find from the contact us page.

BANGALORE

After that, I reached Bangalore, 3 days in Bangalore and I found it to be one of the worst places I visited on the whole trip. Full of traffic and noise, even people I met are so mean. I do not understand how people live there. Anyway, I visited the flower market, Bangalore Fort, Tipu Sultan Mahal and the most amazing place I visited is Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, if you are a technology lover you must visit.

HAMPI

When I was in Bangalore due to some personal incidents, I had to quickly move to Rajkot. So I had to cancel the Chennai and Hyderabad route and took the route to reach Pune and then Rajkot.

After leaving Bangalore I reached Hampi via Chitradurga. Hampi is an ancient village and a very famous tourist place in Karnataka. So many temples and the stone carvings are also amazing. Staying for two days in Hampi and then moving to Bijapur now it’s called Vijiyapura.

AFTER TRIP WHAT ARE MY THOUGHTS ABOUT LIFE

How I feel changed after the trip: I am an emotional person and I think I am good because I feel I am blessed because everyone doesn’t have the power to feel. And I can live with their nature, I know for this kind of nature I get hurt a lot but being a nice person is more important. I can’t forget a few things and people but now I am not concentrating on forgetting or moving away from them but living with them with a smile on my face and from heart I believe that that’s my destiny and I am accepting that. Be a nice person and work hard.

BIJAPUR

Bijapur is the Heritage city of Karnataka, Bijapur is a great example of Islamic architecture and monuments. Gol Gumbaz, Bara Kaman, Jama Masjid Asar Mahal and Ibhrahim Roza.

SOLAPUR & PUNE

After Bijapur I visited Solapur. Now again back to Maharashtra after so many days. Stayed one night at Solapur and on the next day I visited Solapur fort and moved towards Pune.

DANDI

After staying in Pune for 3 days I went shopping because during the whole journey I did not bring a single thing because of the language issue. After all preparation now I moved forward to the last destination – Rajkot.

The next destination was Dandi which is 400 km from Pune. In Dandi, I visited Gandhi Memorial and the last beach of the trip. The next day I reached Baroda via Surat.

WHAT I LEARNED IN TRIP

I have met different kinds of people on the trip, few of them are so amazing people; I learned many good things and a few are just, well… crappy; just ignore them. After spending time with myself and analyzing different people I realized the value of life. God gives life only once and I realized that people complete their full life doing work and fulfilling responsibility – mostly Indian Women. They never live how they want because most women depend on men. Now the scenario is changing but even men have lots of responsibility. So they think about his family before himself. I am not talking about everyone but the majority of people. I have learned life is so important because we people can’t live in a good manner, be good human beings and do whatever our heart wants. My heart loves traveling a lot and I am very satisfied with that. I don’t want to die with unfulfilled dreams, so I am just doing things that my heart wants. I believed that working hard to fulfill your dream whatever you want but don’t do it everyday just take time out for yourself. Just you only because at the end you are the only one with you. Neither parents nor child or spouse – just you. You are the only one, so love yourself and always learn to become better as a person and as a human being. I love traveling so I do that. Everyone has different interests. Please do things that your heart wants, take time from your busy schedule, and live your life. Otherwise, it will be over in an eye blink.

BE KIND, SPREAD LOVE AND WORK HARD.

SURAT, BARODA, DHOLKA & RAJKOT

Baroda is the last destination before reaching Rajkot, I left Baroda in the afternoon for Rajkot on the way I visited Khan Masjid, Dholka and in the evening I reached home – my last destination. I was warmly welcomed by family and I want to thank them for this special welcome – I will never forget it.

I am so blessed that I can do things that I want in my life. This trip will always be remembered throughout my lifetime. I thank all the people who were part of my journey and my mom and family for continuous support and motivation.
